The four-part pilot series will be released on YouTube and the PBS video app.

“This era has been called the golden age of documentaries, and I increasingly felt that at the right time and with the right film, it made sense for us to be in this space,” said “Frontline” EP Raney Aronson-Rath.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation announced Tuesday support for several journalism initiatives over the next five years.
The PBS president told an audience at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour to “stay tuned” for possible announcements involving Sling TV and YouTube TV.

Raney Aronson-Rath of “Frontline” writes of her commitment to uncovering untold stories.
Public media accounted for five of the 12 winners in the category.
Other award winners include independent producer Jenni Monet, Reveal’s Will Evans and WFAE’s Lisa Worf.
Also, New Yorker writer Jelani Cobb will receive a Writers Guild award for his contributions to a “Frontline” documentary.
The series will air in two parts Jan. 17 and 18, just days before a new president is inaugurated.
“My Brother’s Bomber” and “ISIS in Afghanistan” both received two statuettes.
Even panels about shows not overtly dedicated to politics were immersed in campaign theories and analyses.
“This is our enduring commitment to work that is deep, fair and compelling.”
