Hosted by Krys Boyd, the hourlong talk show airs on more than 200 stations.
The hourlong program discusses sex, relationships, health and other themes that get into “taboo territory.”
The third cohort of PRX’s Journalism Podcast Accelerator includes projects from five public media organizations.
Both the flagship program and “Spooked” are produced by Snap Judgment Studios, based in Oakland.
The show will be available to public radio stations starting Nov. 10.
The layoffs affected “teams including marketing, station services, training, and technology and advertising operations.”
“When you’re at home, how do you engage in difference?” asks Byron Green, who joined PRX in April 2021. “How do you engage across differences at large?”
The move will allow Criminal Productions to expand its staff and namesake podcast.
”With the amount of time and effort and love that we put into this, it should be available again,” said Sonja Williams, a producer of “Black Radio: Telling It Like It Was” who worked to bring the series back to the airwaves.
Stringfellow was a producer before she began working in development.
“It starts shattering the monolith of Latinos or youth,” says a contributor to Every 30 Seconds.
WNYC Studios has distributed the show since 2015.
“The vision and breadth of WNYC’s portfolio feels like a good fit for what ‘On Being’ has become,” a spokesperson said.
The move was a “strategic decision reached by PRX and WGBH.”
“At this time, when stations are stretching themselves so far, can we reach beyond our known audiences and come a step closer to the promise of serving the broadest public?”
Reporters at public radio stations will contribute to “Every 30 Seconds.”
Debuting next year, the TRAX network will cater to tweens.
“For us to be successful, we had to streamline our organization,” said CEO Kerri Hoffman.
The companies’ union is affecting personnel, programming and PRI’s relationship with WGBH.
