A newspaper coalition representing more than 100 publications and wire services also will cover the topic.
“This is yet another sign that the public is willing to pay for quality journalism,” said Jennifer Preston, Knight Foundation’s VP of journalism.
The one-week program is open to all who identify themselves as part of an under-represented group in public radio and podcasting.
The audit concludes with 12 observations and recommendations.
The arrangement between WFYI and WBAA is expected to free other newsroom staff to report and produce more feature stories.
The Digital Immersion Project will provide training, workshops and mentorships.
