“Southwest Florida in Focus,” a half-hour of TV news for Fort Myers and beyond, launched as a cost-effective model for producing local coverage.
“I’ve continued to think about what a post-subsidy system would be like, as a practical matter,” Howard Husock told Current.
The podcast, incubated through PRX’s Podquest contest, debuts June 14.
Each series is produced with Canadian partners to take advantage of funding incentives north of the border.
The Public Media Village concept tested last year will be adapted for several conferences this summer, including next month’s AAJA event in Philadelphia.
Launch of ‘The Music Box,’ including podcast episodes and an online music curriculum, coincides with the station’s annual Summer Listening program.
At the 2017 PMBA conference in St. Louis, attendees said people in public media care about making a difference.
Storefront Studio will train Richmond youth in audio production and storytelling.
