The grants will benefit stations in seven states.
“Southwest Florida in Focus,” a half-hour of TV news for Fort Myers and beyond, launched as a cost-effective model for producing local coverage.
“The need for skilled people in our workforce is only growing,” said Amy Shaw, SVP of engagement and content at lead station Nine Network.
CPB, WGBH and Public Media Co. presented plans to PBS TechCon and Public Radio Engineering Conference attendees.
Seven positions will be eliminated and replaced with new roles.
