In just 25 minutes, the video broke the record for the most-viewed Tiny Desk performance within 24 hours of premiering.
“I couldn’t have dreamt of two better subjects for films,” says Firelight’s Stanley Nelson.
The debut issue of WJCT’s “Adapt” featured stories, videos and interviews on topics including seabirds, eco-friendly homes and carbon dioxide emissions.
The Florida station launched “Meet the Helpers” locally in 2016 after the Pulse nightclub shooting.
Colorado Public Radio’s research had found that “OpenAir,” the station’s former brand, wasn’t resonating with listeners.
The goal of the project was “to infuse Instagram with original news reporting created by teens for teens.”
“There’s something humbling and humiliating about a group exercise class,” said host Anna Sale. “We thought, let’s just get together and do something really fun as a ‘Death, Sex & Money’ community.”
An eight-episode prequel is setting the stage for the PBS Kids show’s July premiere.
“Imagine if someone offered you a photo album that was filled with pictures of you and your family from the last 20 years, and you had never seen any of the pictures before.”
KUNR becomes the sixth station in the CPB-backed regional collaboration.
