A $100,000 grant from Press Forward will help Radio Catskill in New York hire at least one additional reporter.
Live at 9:30 Hosted by Squarespace will include live music, interviews, short films and comedy.
The moves “are about education, engagement and efficiency,” said COO Jonathan Barzilay.
“This is the nightmare we have been fighting against for years.”
The collaboration will cover health and the economic importance of the Great Lakes to the region.
Three guest hosts will take over for Simon on Weekend Edition during his six-week absence.
“Their contributions to CPB and to public media as a whole have been remarkable,” said CPB‘s president.
The co-founder of NPR considers how public media has grown since he wrote a renowned mission statement.
Most recently Will Dobson served as Washington bureau chief for Slate.

The merger is the latest step in Audience Engine’s plan to help noncommercial radio stations increase engagement and fundraising.
