A $100,000 grant from Press Forward will help Radio Catskill in New York hire at least one additional reporter.
The funding cut will cost the station about half of its annual $1 million operating budget.
The Labor, Health and Human Services and Education bill would provide $445 million for CPB in FY21.
“During drive time, if you can communicate that you are live and doing things locally, you will stand out,” Jeff Rowe told attendees at the Public Radio Program Directors conference.

The Public Radio Tech Survey also found strong growth in public radio listening among millennials.
