A $100,000 grant from Press Forward will help Radio Catskill in New York hire at least one additional reporter.
The proposed budget would increase interconnection funding by $10 million.
If approved, stations will pay based on revenue instead of a flat fee.
To keep pace, creators of new and legacy shows must think far beyond the television screen.
Live at 9:30 Hosted by Squarespace will include live music, interviews, short films and comedy.
The moves “are about education, engagement and efficiency,” said COO Jonathan Barzilay.
“This is the nightmare we have been fighting against for years.”
The collaboration will cover health and the economic importance of the Great Lakes to the region.
Three guest hosts will take over for Simon on Weekend Edition during his six-week absence.
“Their contributions to CPB and to public media as a whole have been remarkable,” said CPB‘s president.
