Karissa is a junior at American University, studying journalism and the interdisciplinary major CLEG: Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government. Originally from the suburbs of Boston, she came to Washington, D.C., eager to pursue an interest in community reporting. Before coming to Current, she interned for WCVB-TV, the local ABC affiliate in Boston, writing digital and broadcast stories about the community. Karissa is excited to join the Current team for the fall semester and is eager to learn more about public media.
