Fairwell replaces Anthony Padgett, who left the Columbia-based dual licensee earlier this year to lead WOSU in Columbus, Ohio. She starts in the role Aug. 17.

“Adrienne brings to SCETV years of experience and a deep commitment to public media,” SCETV Commission Chair Richard Cohn said in a press release. “The ETV Commission is happy to welcome her back to South Carolina and we look forward to seeing her leadership and vision to further advance the agency.”

Fairwell has served as GM of Arizona PBS since 2021. She previously worked at SCETV as assistant GM and VP of marketing, communications and development. During her time at the network, she helped create a partnership between SCETV and Furman University’s Riley Institute to offer DEI classes for public media employees

“I am thrilled to return home to South Carolina and rejoin the talented team at SCETV,” Fairwell said in the release. “I look forward to building on the agency’s legacy of amplifying, educating and strengthening the communities of South Carolina.”
