Public Radio Exchange is offering up two new podcasts, including one in partnership with a long-running magazine.
PRX announced Monday the debut of HerMoney featuring host Jean Chatzky, a personal finance journalist and editor for NBC’s Today show. She has also written numerous books on the subject.
The podcast will focus on her advice about financial obstacles faced specifically by women. “The show will take listeners through steps they need to take today to live comfortably (and worry-free) tomorrow, offering the latest research, expert tips and personal advice,” according to PRX.
The first episode features an interview with author Gretchen Rubin about the relationship between money and happiness.
Late last month, PRX announced another podcast in partnership with the magazine Outside. The Outside Podcast kicks off with a series of episodes called “Science of Survival,” looking into how humans are able to survive difficult situations. Two episodes have been posted so far. Episodes from the series will also appear as part of PRX’s science podcast Transistor.
Each Outside episode will be “prompted by a story from Outside’s archives or simply inspired by a theme its editors have explored” and “will apply Outside’s literary storytelling methods to the audio realm,” according to a press release.
“Outside is the premier voice in adventure and exploration,” said John Barth, chief content officer at PRX, in a press release. “They saw instantly the value of working with PRX to expand science reporting and reach the broad, captive podcast audience we provide.”
