“One thing that … is really important is not to frame the work we’re doing as farmers versus environmentalists,” says Executive Director Sara Shipley Hiles. “I never want to see that headline or that framing on the story. because I don’t think that’s accurate and it’s not helpful, either.”
Unable to raise enough money to sustain operations, KUAR in Little Rock laid off three Arkansas Public Media staffers.
CPB is supporting the initiative with a $475,000 grant.
Lauren Chapman chose public media because the newsroom doesn’t have to fight with management to hold public officials accountable.
WFYI’s newsroom will grow from 11 staff to 15.
Former WBEZ host Niala Boodhoo will host the new program.
