The board of San Bernardino’s community colleges tabled a proposal that could have reduced PBS and NPR programming on the station.
The San Bernardino Community College District said that the local community won’t lose access to NPR and PBS.
The licensee’s board will present a detailed plan in December to be approved by April. The plan may include cuts to NPR and PBS programming, as well as FNX.
The interim chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District is recommending that the district convert its public TV and radio stations into a media training lab by 2023.
“Going forward we generally want to mitigate production risk,” said interim GM Keith Birkfeld.
