“Southwest Florida in Focus,” a half-hour of TV news for Fort Myers and beyond, launched as a cost-effective model for producing local coverage.
At the Television Critics Association press tour, chief programming executive Perry Simon said the themed shows can help PBS “best stand out from this crowded content marketplace and make a real impact with our audiences and our communities.”
The puppet show, debuting next year, features one of the characters from the original “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”
