April Simpson

April Simpson covered funding and innovation for Current from 2016–18. She relocated from South Florida, where she was a freelance journalist and writer for a global development charity. April was a Fulbright fellow in Botswana and Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo fellow with the International Women’s Media Foundation. April has written for the Seattle Times and the Boston Globe, among other publications.
