Police evacuated the headquarters of KPCC in Pasadena, Calif., and neighboring businesses Monday night over concerns that a rental truck parked nearby may have contained an explosive device, according to a news report from the station.
Police who detonated the device told KPCC that though it appeared to be real, it did not explode loudly when detonated.
Authorities received a call about the suspicious truck shortly before 6 p.m. The device was detonated more than three hours later. KPCC switched its broadcast to BBC programming during the evacuation.
