PBS announced Wednesday that Shane Guiter will join the network as v.p., development strategies, a new position.
Guiter joins PBS from KCPT in Kansas City, where he was c.o.o.
In a memo to stations, Betsy Gerdeman, PBS’s s.v.p. of development services, said Guiter will oversee daily operations of PBS Development Services staff and help “identify and proactively address station development needs.” He will also represent development interests for PBS in special projects, she said. Guiter will report to Gerdeman.
Guiter joined KCPT in 2012 as the station’s first v.p. of digital. He helped the station purchase and launch a Triple A radio station and assisted with starting The Hale Center for Journalism.
Prior to KCPT, he worked for seven years at KLRU in Austin, Texas, as director of development.
The best of PBS.
