Disruption and dislocation allowed some public media stations to plan — and even finish — upgrades to their headquarters.
The funds support the consolidation and upgrade of the station’s headquarters and production studios in Northern Virginia.
Some employees have returned to work in the state-of-the-art facility, but plans for a full reopening have been delayed until next year.

The open-space building incorporates classrooms, meeting centers and a media learning lab.
