South Florida PBS’ mission is to strengthen our diverse communities through community engagement which creates opportunities for dialogue that foster understanding and empathy and build bridges across all sectors of the population.
During summer 2020, we held a series of 4 Virtual LGBTQ Town Halls which were meant to provide an online platform where LGBTQ and straight residents could build bridges in a safe environment around topics of concern to all South Floridians. Participants were able to ask and receive answers during the virtual events from the featured panelists, many of whom were medical experts.
The Building Bridges video series, which resulted from these town halls, aired on our channels and social media platforms.
