A bill attempting to end state funding for public broadcasting failed to make it out of committee.
In a letter to CEOs of both organizations, Chairman Brendan Carr wrote that some underwriting announcements may “cross the line” into advertising.
The event will feature local vendors and live performances, including a free Los Lonely Boys concert.
“The hallmark of her reporting,” says colleague Elissa Nadworny, “is ‘I want to be with people in their lives. I want to be with them on the fishing boat. I want to be on their cattle ranch when the cows cross into their property.’”
Three productions funded by Black Public Media will be distributed through social media this fall.
