Ari Shapiro to leave NPR

Ari Shapiro will leave NPR in the fall, the network announced Wednesday.
The final show for the All Things Considered and Consider This co-host will be Sept. 26, Edith Chapin, SVP, editor-in-chief and acting CCO, said in a note to newsroom staff.
Shapiro marks 10 years as an ATC host this fall. “Several months ago, Ari came to us to say that the milestone was an amazing capstone to his career here, and it felt like the right time for him to try something new,” Chapin wrote.
He got his start as an intern for Nina Totenberg and then spent two years as an international correspondent in London. He went on to work as a White House correspondent and a Justice Correspondent.
“We’re excited to see what Ari does next as he embarks on creating more of his own work,” Chapin wrote. “We’ve also discussed keeping the door open for any opportunities to work together on specific projects in the future.”
Chapin said she would share more next week about “next steps to fill the ATC host chair after Ari leaves.”
I listen to NPR almost daily. Ari will be missed. He has a great radio presence. He is always very interesting and easy to follow. I wish him well in his new endeavors and hope to hear of him again,
