Maxie Jackson is no longer serving as executive director at Radio Milwaukee, the station announced in an email to supporters Jan. 17.
“Our board of directors and staff are grateful for Maxie Jackson’s contributions and service to the organization over the past two and half years, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” the email said.
Jordan Lee, Radio Milwaukee’s senior director of programming, will serve as interim executive director, according to the email.
“As we move toward an exciting and successful year in 2025, [Lee’s] proven leadership and deep understanding of our mission will be invaluable,” the email said.
The email did not say why Jackson left the station. Reached by email, he declined to comment. He joined the station in 2022.
“With [Lee’s] experience, passion, and unmatched ability to tell our story, we are confident in Jordan’s leadership to guide us smoothly through this transition while we begin the search for a permanent leader,” the email said.
Last year, the station “posted some of our best fundraising and donor-drive results since 2020,” according to the email.
Radio Milwaukee’s board will begin a search for a permanent executive director “after a thorough review of the organization,” according to a statement provided to Current by Lee.
