Noel King and Ailsa Chang will become full-time hosts Aug. 1 of Morning Edition and All Things Considered, respectively.

King and Chang have been part-time hosts since joining the shows in February 2018, dividing their time between the newsmagazines and NPR’s Planet Money. With the change, each newsmagazine will have four full-time hosts.
Chang will relocate to host ATC from NPR West in Culver City, Calif., by the end of the year.

“I can’t wait to see the level of journalism we can achieve with four full-time hosts on this show,” Chang said in a press release Tuesday. “Let’s experiment, let’s travel, let’s dig into stories in a way we haven’t been able to before. AND, NPR West — I am so thrilled to make you my new home! After 12 years on the East Coast, this California woman is beyond ready to come back.”
“The 2020 election and the run-up to it are such crucial moments in this country’s history,” King said in the release. “I can’t think of a more exciting time to be coming on board.”
