Peter Sagal, host of NPR’s Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me! and PBS’s upcoming Constitution USA, makes an appearance on the latest episode of comedian Marc Maron’s WTF interview podcast, posted April 3. The episode was recorded live in Austin, Texas, during March’s South by Southwest festival.
In the episode, Sagal recounts his former dreams of becoming a Hollywood screenwriter and playwright who cultivates an adoring audience afraid to admit when they don’t understand him. Those dreams ended ingloriously with a writing credit on 2004’s Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. He also lets loose considerably more curse words than NPR typically allows, so be warned. Other guests on the episode include actor James Franco and director Harmony Korine.
Select episodes of Maron’s podcast are edited for public radio distribution through PRX. Maron also has his own scripted television series premiering May 3 on cable channel IFC.
