With more than 200 public radio stations and NPR itself now using the Grove content management system for their websites, public media’s digital infrastructure overhaul is moving forward.

The staffers at the public radio station said in a statement that they aim to create “a better, healthier and more transparent workplace.”
Current’s latest analysis of executive compensation found that the median salary for GMs at university-licensed stations was the lowest among licensee types.

The layoffs affected “teams including marketing, station services, training, and technology and advertising operations.”
Margaret Low, a former executive for NPR, joined the network’s board.
“Our newsroom is creating all this work, and it didn’t make sense that we weren’t actually taking some of that work and putting it up in the podcast realm,” says Ave Carrillo, WNYC’s EP of local podcasts.
