The letter cited FCC Chair Brendan Carr’s own letter asking the commission’s Enforcement Bureau to open an investigation into NPR and PBS member stations.
Arkansas PBS CEO Courtney Pledger spoke against the bill, saying the agency would stand to lose funding via grants and donations if it no longer has an independent board.
The recommendation follows a House subcommittee’s proposal earlier this month to zero out public media funding.
Stations have yet to earn much from the pilot program, but participants remain hopeful for phase two and the future.
The show will be available to public radio stations starting Nov. 10.
The station is seeking partnerships with archival organizations to make the collection accessible to the public.
