Lauren Komrosky will become CEO of Connecticut Public, the broadcaster’s board announced Tuesday.

Komrosky, who currently serves as the station’s chief digital officer, begins in the role Monday. Komrosky succeeds Mark Contreras, who earlier this year announced that he would retire.
“Lauren brings a unique combination of deep institutional knowledge, proven leadership, and forward-looking vision,” said Catalina Samper-Horak, incoming chair of Connecticut Public’s board, in a press release. “Following a rigorous national search, the Board is confident she will build on our strong foundation and lead Connecticut Public into its next chapter.”
Komrosky has worked at Connecticut Public in leadership positions for nearly 11 years, including nearly five years as chief digital officer.
“For more than a decade, I have had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary team whose journalism, storytelling, and commitment to public service inspire me every day,” she said in the release. “At a time when trusted journalism and community connection matter more than ever, I look forward to building on our momentum and expanding our impact across the state.”
Contreras will continue to work in an advisory role at the station through November.
