PBS, PRX pick up Webby awards

PBS and Public Radio Exchange picked up a handful of wins at the 18th annual Webby Awards, which honor the best of the Internet. Winners were announced April 28, and an awards ceremony will be webcast May 20.
- PBS’s Religion & Ethics Newsweekly won the Webby for religion and spirituality in the Web division, while American Public Media’s On Being won the category’s People’s Voice prize.
- PBSKids.org won the People’s Voice award in the youth category in the Web section.
- The PBS Digital Studios series PBS Idea Channel won the Online Film & Video Webby for First Person.
- The PRX Public Radio Player mobile app won the Mobile & Apps Webby for Media Streaming Service.
Correction: An earlier version of this article reported that PRX’s Remix app won the Webby Award for Media Streaming Service. The award went to PRX’s Public Radio Player.
