Frank Maranzino has been named the permanent president and GM of CapRadio in Sacramento, Calif., the station’s board announced Tuesday.

Maranzino has held the role on an interim basis for more than two years. The switch is effective as of April 1.
CapRadio’s previous leader, Jun Reina, faces criminal charges for allegedly embezzling station funds for personal use.
“Frank stepped up to lead CapRadio during its most turbulent chapter,” Mark Wheeler, CapRadio board chair, said in a press release. “Over the last two years, he has proven himself to be exactly the leader this organization needs.”
Maranzino joined CapRadio in 2019 as director of technology.
“It has been an honor to serve this organization and the community during such a pivotal moment — not only for CapRadio, but for public broadcasting in general,” Maranzino said in the release. “CapRadio belongs to the people it serves. I’m deeply grateful for the trust of the Board and staff, and I’m excited to continue building a strong, resilient future rooted in public service, journalistic integrity and community connection.”
