Ina Carillo is leaving her position as GM of PBS Guam to become director of destination development for the Guam Visitors Bureau.

Carillo accepted the position Jan. 21 and will assume her duties Feb. 9, according to a bureau news release.
Before joining PBS Guam in 2019, Carillo worked as Guam media director for Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign. She was also network programming and advertising sales manager for Docomo Pacific, a telecommunications company.
In a statement to Current, Carillo said she’s concluding her service at PBS Guam with “profound gratitude and pride.”
“Together, we fundamentally strengthened PBS Guam—expanding original local and cultural programming, securing transformative grant funding that modernized our technology and production infrastructure, investing deeply in our people, and dramatically expanding our reach through PBS KIDS 24/7, digital platforms, and OTT services,” she said. “These efforts were not incremental; they repositioned PBS Guam as a modern, resilient public media institution capable of serving our community with excellence today and for generations to come.
“I am deeply thankful to the staff, board, partners, and viewers who believed in this work. Most especially to the Governor of Guam, the honorable Lourdes Leon Guerrero for her staunch support of the station and its mission. I leave confident in the station’s future and proud of the enduring foundation that has been built.”
