CPB CFO and Treasurer William Tayman Jr. and SVP and General Counsel Westwood Smithers Jr. will retire from the corporation next year.

Tayman was appointed to the position in 2006. He previously worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, including as manager of corporate financial planning and as acting VP of the treasury.

Smithers joined CPB in 2005. From 1999 to 2005, he was EVP and GM of business operations for the public media organization that would later be known as VPM in Richmond, Va. From 1995 to 1999, he served as VP of broadcasting and telecommunications services for VPM.

CPB issued a request for recruiting services this month that disclosed the retirements. It is seeking to replace Tayman and Smithers, who will leave CPB in the first quarter of 2024, according to the notice.

CPB aims to fill the positions by January “to allow for transition between the incumbents and the new hires,” the document said.
