Timothy’s last day is July 1.

“I wish he would agree to lead UETN for another ten years, but we regretfully accept his plan to retire,” said UETN Board Chair Robert Wagner in a news release. The board is planning a search for a successor.

Timothy has led UETN since 2012. He previously worked as superintendent of Park City and Millard County school districts and was also deputy state superintendent of public instruction for the Utah State Office of Education, now called the Utah State School Board.

With the support of the Utah legislature, Timothy expanded the network’s scope from education to include telehealth. During his tenure, UETN also became headquarters of the Northwest Regional Telehealth Resource Center.

“I’ve spent 45 years as an educator in Utah, starting as a fifth grade teacher and then serving as a principal and superintendent in rural and urban districts,” Timothy said in the release. “Now, after a decade at UETN, it’s time to focus on grandchildren, volunteer service, and travel.”
