Fogarty has been the leader of Public Media Connect, the regional partnership of CET in Cincinnati and ThinkTV in Dayton, Ohio, for 11 years. He has also been president of the Southwestern Ohio Instructional Technology Association since 2017, when SOITA joined the partnership. Previously, he served as president of ThinkTV since 1993.

“As I leave my position, I continue to have faith and confidence in the cultural, informational and educational mission of Public Media Connect, as well as an appreciation for my career, longevity and good fortune,” Fogarty said in a news release.

Fogarty’s first position in public media was as manager of broadcast projects and senior producer at Twin Cities Public Television. He later joined ThinkTV in 1988 as station manager and director of broadcasting and telecommunications.

Fogarty began his professional career with ABC News working on national documentary productions and also worked as an international communications consultant with the Peace Corps in Colombia. He has taught at the University of Minnesota and lectured at a number of colleges.

The outgoing public media veteran is currently on the board of directors for the National Educational Telecommunications Association.

“David has led CET and ThinkTV through many changes, from bringing the stations together to form the regional partnership Public Media Connect to creating a strategic plan with a strong focus on digital platforms, just to mention a few. We appreciate his leadership and the energy he has put into keeping the stations fiscally healthy as well as on the leading edge of content, technology and public media,” said Carrie Haley, president of the Public Media Connect board of trustees.

Fogarty will work with the station’s leaders to find a new CEO.
