Kyle Cunningham is stepping down as GM at KRCC in Colorado Springs, Colo., citing personal reasons.
His decision comes less than a month after Colorado Public Radio and Colorado College, KRCC’s licensee, announced that CPR would run the station under an operating agreement.
In a post on KRCC’s website, Cunningham said that CPR asked him to stay but that he is “seeking to find some balance in my personal and professional life, and to explore new possibilities and opportunities.”
Cunningham will assist the stations with the transition and step down March 6.
“I am grateful to Kyle for his leadership and initiative at KRCC,” Jane Turnis, Colorado College VP for communications, said in the post. “Kyle built a strong and successful membership program, always taking time to meaningfully engage with our listeners. He then rose to lead the station’s great team and did that with vision and heart.”
Cunningham took over the top job at KRCC in September after serving as interim GM since January 2019.
