An omnibus spending bill that funds the government through the end of September contains level support for CPB and a slight raise in funding for arts agencies and the public TV literacy initiative Ready To Learn.
A House vote is tentatively set for Wednesday. The Senate is expected to vote before the end of the week.
The bill provides CPB with its forward-funded fiscal 2019 appropriation of $445 million. Public broadcasting’s interconnection distribution system revamp would also receive its expected $50 million for FY17.
The National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities each get $150 million, up $2 million each from FY16.
Ready To Learn would receive $2 million more, raising its support to $27.7 million.
Good for more activities for toddlers and tweens.
