Keillor’s goal by fall 2016: ‘To be a gray eminence’

Garrison Keillor, the longtime Prairie Home Companion host who recently announced his retirement, tells The Associated Press in a video interview that his plan “is to be a gray eminence” by fall 2016. “And to fade away into well-deserved obscurity,” he says.

“Anybody can change their mind,” he adds, “but that’s the plan.”

I can’t help but be disappointed in what will be a turn from storytelling to live music by A Prairie Home Companion. Chris Thile is an incredibly talented musician but he’s no storyteller, or at least not on the level of Garrison Keillor.
