The Association of Independents in Radio opened its runway for stations looking to participate in its latest Localore project, Finding America.
Public television and radio stations that want to develop new approaches for creating content for under-served audiences in their communities can submit videos describing their project ideas until May 31. AIR will open the application window for outside collaborators – such as independent producers, coders, artists, educators, or entrepreneurs – to submit their ideas for collaborating on station projects on June 1.
AIR will then play matchmaker this summer, connecting stations with collaborators to work on the projects. It plans to choose a total of 15 projects.
For the runway’s May 1 launch, videos from 13 stations – including one TV station and three joint licensees – were posted on the runway. AIR has commitments from another 10 stations that plan to apply.
During the last round of Localore there were 61 video entries.
