An overhaul of PBS’ weekday schedule opens a window for older viewers to spend a lot more time with public TV.
Stations and their community partners are welcoming the show’s social and emotional curriculum with virtual events and interactive in-school workshops.
Rotenberg plans to “explore new opportunities to improve the lives of children and families,” according to a memo from PBS President Paula Kerger.

The puppet show, debuting next year, features one of the characters from the original “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”
An eight-episode prequel is setting the stage for the PBS Kids show’s July premiere.
The interactive game feature should roll out later this year, according to PBS.
“Monkeying Around” is expected to be available to air in 2019.
