Over the past three years, CentralCast has been hard at work implementing critical upgrades that lay the foundation for a more resilient and advanced future. From upgrading our automation system to enhancing our monitoring-by-exception platforms, and most importantly, deploying the CloudBridge solution, these steps have been pivotal in bringing us to where we are today. And now, the culmination of these efforts is taking shape in our most ambitious initiative yet: Project Core.
At its heart, Project Core is not just about ensuring operational and geographic redundancy; it is about empowering CentralCast to handle the growing needs of public broadcasters in a fast-evolving media landscape. As we embark on this massive project, one of our primary goals is to create a system capable of supporting more than 300 streams of over-the-air (OTA) and over-the-top (OTT) playout. This is a significant leap in capacity, positioning CentralCast to be a critical player in the future of broadcasting.
The vision for Project Core extends beyond scalability. The design of this initiative ensures that every partner station we serve will continue to have seamless access to all the services they currently rely on, while also acquiring new tools and capabilities to enhance their operations. Project Core is about future-proofing public broadcasting, allowing stations to do more with less effort and greater efficiency.
At the same time, we’re investigating a pivotal upgrade: cloud automation. By integrating cloud-based solutions with our physical infrastructure, we will unlock new efficiencies that keep CentralCast ahead of technological shifts while providing robust protection against potential service disruptions.
Partnership and Trust: The backbone of CentralCast’s growth
None of this would have been possible without the partnership and trust of the stations we serve. Your confidence in CentralCast has allowed us to grow strategically, leveraging economies of scale to continue expanding and innovating. As we move into this next exciting chapter, we remain committed to fostering new partnerships and collaborating with stations and organizations who share our vision. Your trust is what drives our ability to create efficiencies, keep costs low, and make the investments needed to secure the future of public broadcasting.
Built by public broadcasters for public broadcasters, CentralCast is a self-sustaining nonprofit organization that can make significant improvements without transferring costs to customers. Every step we take is focused on creating efficiencies and providing better tools for broadcasters to thrive.
A future-ready hub for public broadcasting
Project Core is the embodiment of CentralCast’s mission to fortify the future of public broadcasting. CentralCast’s goal is clear: to ensure that you, the broadcasters, have access to cutting-edge technology and services that help you continue to do what you do best—connect with and serve your local communities.
