Lost Coast Sessions

We recorded five different performances over as many days in front of a live audience at a local venue, the Arcata Playhouse. Admission was free. We collaborated with local NPR station KHSU to schedule the bands and promote the days’ performances. Performers represented the wide variety of artists here in our area including heavy metal band Lord Ellis, spoken word group Word Humboldt, vocal group A Company of Voices, jazz ensemble RLA and funk band Object Heavy. This was a way to get PBS North Coast back out into the community while giving local residents a chance to experience some of their own home-grown talent at no cost.  It also got PBS North Coast back into regular local production after a number of years of minimal local output. After a free world-premiere showing of the Lord Ellis and Object Heavy episodes at the Arcata Playhouse, the series will begin airing on PBS North Coast on September 8, 2018.
