In an effort to connect musicians with other musicians and facilitate a meeting with the Mayor of Atlanta, in FY20 Jazz 91.9 WCLK issued a call for musicians via on air announcements, email marketing and social media.

As a result, WCLK was able to amass a list of more than 150 Jazz musicians and convened more than 100 musicians for the portrait with Mayor Bottoms. The purpose of the project was to pay tribute to the historic 1958 photography, A Great Day in Harlem by Art Kane. At the same time, WCLK wanted to highlight the rich heritage of the Jazz community in the greater Atlanta area. In addition to the engagement initiative, the portrait will be used as fundraising piece for WCLK in FY21.

The Jazz 91.9 WCLK A Great Day in Atlanta Jazz portrait with Mayor Bottoms is the third installments of the commemorative series.
