The ITVS team was most surprised to learn that 89% of documentary participants indicated that they would participate in a documentary again to, as one respondent put it, “educate, inspire, and motivate others to take action.”

“Nearly all federal funding for public media appears to be eliminated” from President Trump’s discretionary budget request, said CPB Chair Ruby Calvert during a Friday board meeting.

“We are still reviewing the legal interpretation of the order,” Jennifer Ferro said.

In response, CPB asserted that it is not subject to the president’s authority.
