Pulley-Hayes, a former CPB VP, currently runs a public radio station in Florida.
The Indianapolis-based public broadcaster said that it “intends to maintain several staff positions” at the station in West Lafayette, Ind.
The staffers are seeking voluntary recognition of their union from CEO Jim Schachter.
Tong has worked for “Marketplace” for more than 16 years.
“We didn’t have quite the feedback from the expat community as we’d hoped,” said KJZZ’s GM.
The change comes after longtime host Laura Knoy announced that she would step down.
The dispute centers on NYPR’s termination of reporter Fred Mogul.
The collaborative ended its show “Next” last month to focus on new priorities.
The stations expect the deal to close in August.
Martínez replaces David Greene, who left the show in 2020.
Richardson previously worked as director of strategic partnerships at WBEZ.
Union members at the station said they “feel like they could be next if they do speak up.”
NPR and stations have found early success at attracting support from major donors and adding reporting capacity to the system with a journalism hubs model.
