Holly Kernan will take over as CEO of Nashville Public Radio, the station announced Tuesday.

She succeeds Steve Swenson, who is retiring.
“I’m thrilled to help shepherd this next phase of community service and to embrace my new home in Nashville,” she said in the announcement.
Kernan was most recently chief content officer at KQED in San Francisco. She joined the organization in 2014 as executive editor of news. Kernan also worked for more than a decade as news director at KALW in San Francisco.
“It is a reflection on the strength and growth of WPLN that we can attract someone with Kernan’s impressive media background from KQED, one of the most respected organizations within the public media industry,” said Neil Thorne, Nashville Public Radio board chair, in the announcement. “She brings a wealth of experience in leading teams.”

I’m not sure if your staff is union there, but don’t expect Holly to be a great friend of workers. ( from a retired KQED employee.)
