Utah Public Radio managers to retire

Utah Public Radio announced last month that its co-managers will retire in the fall.

The station’s licensee, Utah State University in Logan, appointed Tom Williams and Kerry Bringhurst co-managers in 2019.

“During their tenure, UPR expanded local programming, improved broadcast services in rural communities, increased support for student reporters through scholarships, and earned recognition for outstanding community engagement,” UPR said in a Facebook post Feb. 4.

Bringhurst has spent nearly 20 years at the station. She previously served as news director.

Williams has worked full-time at the station since 1996. He also hosts the station’s daily public affairs call-in program, Access Utah, and hosts Behind the Headlines. In an interview with the station, Williams said that he hopes to continue hosting those programs for some time after he retires.

The station is conducting a national search for a new station manager.
