Pamintuan will succeed Caryn Mathes, who will retire June 2. KUOW COO Kerry Swanson will serve as interim president and GM during the transition.

“We are thrilled to have found someone of Tina’s vision and expertise to take the helm,” Randy Hodgins, VP of external affairs at the University of Washington, KUOW’s licensee, said in a press release. “Her skills and experience will allow her to lead KUOW with excellence as the station builds on its strong tradition of producing award-winning journalism, innovative podcasts, and strong community engagement.”

Jess Luther, currently STLPR chief of staff, will serve as interim GM after Pamintuan departs.

Pamintuan has led the St. Louis station since 2021. She previously was GM of KALW in San Francisco.

“I am honored to join KUOW and look forward to working with the exceptional team here,” Pamintuan said in the release. “Together, we will build on the station’s legacy, chart its future course, and explore new opportunities to serve and engage our audience.”

Pamintuan serves on the NPR board and chairs its DEI committee.
