Spokane Public Radio has named John M. Decker, a veteran of San Diego’s KPBS, as its new GM and president.
The station announced Wednesday that Decker will start Jan. 15, succeeding interim President and GM Michael Grabicki.
Grabicki was named to the interim role in February after Cary Boyce resigned from the top job. Boyce had been at the helm since 2012.
Decker spent 29 years at KPBS. He was senior director of content development from February 2023 until March 2024, according to his LinkedIn page.
During his tenure, he led staff working on scheduling, production and content development for the dual licensee, according to SPR.
“I look forward to helping build onto the stations’ incredible legacy of providing arts and information to the Inland Northwest,” Decker said in the post.
Grabicki will continue hosting his Friday Night Jazz program.
