Budihas

Stephen Budihas was named VP of operations for Lehigh Valley Public Media in Bethlehem, Pa.

Budihas most recently worked as director of human resources for the organization. He will continue his responsibilities overseeing HR, facilities and technology, according to a news release.

Before working in public media, Budihas worked for the insurance company Andesa as COO. He was also a VP for Diversified Information Technologies and was VP of HR for The Morning Call in Allentown, Pa.

GBH in Boston announced program changes.

Jeremy Siegel, co-host of Morning Edition, will host a new one-hour audio program “that will take listeners all across Massachusetts to hear stories about what makes the Bay State unique,” according to a news release. The program begins production next year and will air across partner stations New England Public Media and CAI, GBH’s stations serving Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.

Siegel will also become the transportation correspondent for both GBH News and The World, co-produced by GBH and PRX. Siegel will report on transit issues in Boston and will also travel abroad for stories. His first international reporting trip will be in Tokyo later this year.

In addition, Paris Alston will transition from co-hosting Morning Edition to hosting a rebooted edition of Basic Black. GBH suspended production of the show earlier this year and will relaunch it under a new name in 2025. Alston, who joined GBH in 2022, will continue to host A Walk Down the Block, which covers various topics related to Boston.

Mark Herz, a reporter for GBH, will step in as interim host of Morning Edition.

Vincent

Robyn Vincent became co-host of The Metro, a daily public affairs program produced by WDET in Detroit. Vincent will work alongside Tia Graham. She most recently worked as a reporter for Chalkbeat Detroit and also worked for KUNC in Greeley, Colo., first as a reporter for the Mountain West News Bureau and later as an investigative reporter and EP.

Timmins

Annmarie Timmins was hired as an education and youth reporter for New Hampshire Public Radio. Timmins most recently worked as a senior reporter for the New Hampshire Bulletin. She has also been a freelance correspondent for the Boston Globe, a correspondent for the Associated Press and a senior reporter for the Concord Monitor.

Kylie Cameron is leaving her position as a city hall reporter for KMUW in Wichita, Kan., to become a local government reporter for the Wichita Eagle newspaper. “I’m incredibly grateful for my time at KMUW and the people here. I hope 18-year-old Kylie is proud,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Cameron first joined KMUW in 2019 as an intern. She was rehired as a full-time staffer in 2021.

Management

Clint Domingue was named operations director for KRVS in Lafayette, La. He succeeds Kris Wotipka, who is staying on at the station as chief engineer. Dominique previously worked for Delta Media as a producer, host and operations manager for the company’s commercial stations.

Audience

Jonathan Peck became a syndication specialist for WBUR in Boston. Peck most recently worked as a part-time syndication consultant for the station. He previously worked as senior director of broadcast and podcast marketing for PRX and director of station relations and audience development for WAMU in Washington, D.C. From 2005–10 he worked on the membership team for WBUR and from 2012–16 he worked for the station as syndication sales manager.

Development

Todd

Mairead Todd rejoined KOSU in Oklahoma City as development director. Todd previously worked as VP of development for the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority. Before that, she was a membership specialist for KOSU and has also been assistant director of research for PBS Kids and a television research consultant for PBS’ sponsorship and sales team. “As our work has diversified to new platforms to meet the needs of audiences, we must also evolve how we partner with those audiences to fund the work,” said Rachel Hubbard, KOSU executive director, in a news release. “Mairead’s experience is perfect to help us grow together.”

Communications

Eamon-Shine

Kirsten Eamon-Shine left her position as director of marketing and strategic communications for WFYI in Indianapolis to become chief brand experience officer for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. Eamon-Shine joined the station in 2020.

Sandy McBride, former director of communications and programming for Idaho PBS, became director of communications for VentureLab, an education nonprofit in Austin, Texas. McBride joined Idaho PBS in 2018 as director of communications and was promoted in 2021.

Fellowships

The Poynter Institute included five journalists for nonprofit and public media organizations in its workshop “Power of Diverse Voices: Writing Workshop for Journalists of Color,” which was launched in 2017. The journalists who will meet in November in St. Petersburg, Fla., for four days of coaching and instruction are Adriana Cardona, immigration journalist for WBEZ in Chicago; Taylor Jung, a social justice reporter for NJ Spotlight News produced by NJ PBS; Cecilia Lei, a host and producer for KQED in San Francisco; Elvia Malagon, a reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times; and Patricio Robayo, a producer and news director for WJFF Radio Catskill in Jeffersonville, N.Y. Eric Deggans, television critic for NPR, is one of the instructors for the program.
