Clint Schaff has taken over as GM of KUAF in Fayetteville, Ark.
He succeeds Leigh Wood, who ran the station for nearly five years before leaving for NPR in February. Schaff began in the new role last month.
“I’m ready to see where we can take KUAF together,” Schaff said in a press release. “In today’s challenging media landscape, the need for trusted news and community-building platforms like public radio is more crucial than ever. There’s so much potential for increasing community engagement, fostering creative expression and driving innovative content through our radio broadcasts, digital platforms, events and more. I look forward to collaborating with the teams at KUAF, the University of Arkansas and the Northwest Arkansas community to make it happen.”
Schaff previously led the development of LA Times Studios, which produces original video and audio content for the company, as VP of strategy and development. He has also worked as a consultant and was VP of digital at the PR firm Edelman.
“Clint’s creativity and talent for finding people to execute grand ideas transformed the LA Times when he helped create LA Times Studios, and he did the same when he created California’s NEWSTORY storytelling festival,” said Bret Schulte, chair of the University of Arkansas School of Journalism and Strategic Media.
